Making a virtual appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last week to talk about his new album, Here on Earth, Tim McGraw, also gave viewers at home an update on his life in quarantine and revealed what he gifted his wife, Faith Hill, with on her 53rd birthday.

While most would expect the Country star to shower his lady with the finer things, Tim admitted to Jimmy that, “this year, she just got some roses.” No judgements here, this is a judgement free zone.

McGraw, actually had a good reason for the lack of luxury. The couple actually has a policy against going all-out when it comes to presents. Saying, “we’ve gotten each other extravagant things over the years,” so now simple gift giving is the new status quo, vowing to stick to a budget when it comes to giving each other gifts on holidays and birthdays. “I mean every now and then, I'll go over the limit and do something stupid. But for the most part, for the last four or five years, we've tried to stick to about a hundred bucks each to give gifts.”

Along with what we’re sure was a beautiful bouquet of roses, Tim did what most couples these days must do in order to prove their love and devotion, he posted about it on Instagram of course. Accompanying a sultry throwback pic, Tim penned an adoring poem for his wife in honor of her birthday, in which he confesses Hill is, “the best person I've ever known,” and how “she lights up every room she walks in.” He finishes things off with letting us know “I love her” thrice and once directly to her, ending with “I love you baby.”

And Country music’s perfect hubby didn’t stop their, sticking to their set rules and proving that love truly don’t cost a thing. Tim came through with a second doting post, this time keeping the caption simple,"My birthday girl,” along with a kissing selfie.

After his virtual interview from his Tennessee home, McGraw, later returned to deliver a special rendition of his current single, "I Called Mama," the first single from his recently released 16th studio album, Here on Earth. Check out his interview above and his performance below.
