Tarek El Moussa Previews New HGTV Series 'Flipping 101'

February 5, 2020

Fans of home improvement shows will be “flipping out” over Tarek El Moussa’s newest project.

El Moussa’s new show titled “Flipping 101” will debut on March 5 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

The 14-episode series finds El Moussa mentoring “rookie flippers” in hopes of helping them navigate the unexpected struggles of first-time home buying so that they can eventually get the best bang for their buck.

“I’m sharing every lesson I’ve learned to help novice flippers survive their projects unscathed,” El Moussa said, according to Deadline. “I’m going to show them how to take the worst of the worst and make a mountain of money, turning their homes into the best on the block.”

The pilot will focus on a young couple who purchases a century-old Craftsman-style house without checking it out beforehand.

The episode synopsis reads, “El Moussa guides them through key decisions — garage v. party room, historic charm v. modern layout — aiming to help them hold onto their investment." Later episodes are described as "challenging home renovations, including a property that catches fire in the middle of the job and a house previously inhabited by animal hoarders.”

The 37-year-old shared a first-look on his Instagram. In the clip, he is seen providing feedback and guiding a couple during their first flip. He reveals he installed cameras inside the flipped home and they all huddle together in his van and watch the open house in realtime.

The series will be available digitally on HGTV the same day as it premieres on the network.

El Moussa is best known as the host of HGTV’s “Flip or Flop” with ex-wife Christina Anstead.

He also has a digital series titled “Tarek's Flip Side” that debuted in August 2019.
