The couple took advantage of an unprecedented situation

Quarantine presented an opportunity for some families to spend time together that otherwise weren’t able to. For Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani, it was time well spent.

In a video posted from The Voice ahead of its season debut on October 19, Stefani, Shelton, and their fellow judges Kelly Clarkson and John Legend all swapped stories about how they spent their time at home in quarantine.

"It's been pretty magical for Blake and I and the kids because we don't ever have that much solid time together," Gwen said. “We did do a lot of fun stuff. We did a lot of cooking."

Like many other people, Stefani jumped on the sourdough bread trend. "It took me like a month to get my starter right,” she said. The couple had plenty of other activities as Gwen noted they built a garden and planted zinnias. “We planted thousands of zinnia flowers. It was just like a lot of stuff you kind of dream about doing but you never have time to do," she said.

The couple definitely got in touch with nature this year as Blake said he utilized the peach trees at his home to learn how to make jam.

“There was so many (peaches), and there was nothing else to do, we got online and we learned how to make jam," Shelton said. "And we made like cases of peach jam. I'll probably never do that again, but now I know how to do it."

While the couple’s time together at home sounds magical, it was a treat to see them perform together again at the 2020 ACM Awards. The couple played their new song “Happy Anywhere” using the Nashville music venue Bluebird Cafe as a virtual backdrop
