Dunkin', Starbucks May Launch Pumpkin Spice Season Earlier Than Ever This Year

August 15, 2020

With 2020 bringing many people down, Dunkin' and Starbucks are hoping to bring their annual fan favorites back a little early this year.

Dunkin' announced Wednesday that it would be debuting its fall menu as early as August 19 - clocking in at the earliest date they've ever released their fall favorites. The menu will include the coveted Pumpkin Spice Latte (PSL).

Jill Nelson, Dunkin's vice president of marketing strategy, offered this statement to USA Today: "While there is so much uncertainty heading into the fall, one thing our fans can count on is the return of pumpkin at Dunkin'."

She continued, "We're excited to bring them one of the most anticipated flavors earlier than ever before."

Meanwhile, Starbucks has already started up on offering their piece of autumnal bliss by making Pumpkin Spice products like creamers and K-cups available at grocery stores the first week of August.

According to Business Insider, there are whispers that the in-store offerings could be made available as early as August 25, per an internal memo.

Starbucks typically goes for a Labor Day launch surrounding its pumpkin products, but this year, perhaps in the wake of the saddening coronavirus pandemic, they will be releasing the products even earlier.

Both Dunkin' and Starbucks appear to be deviating from their typical PSL launch dates.

As it turns out, Twitter users have been gunning for the early release of the PSL for about a month now. Many have indicated that the turmoil of 2020 should lead to an early release of pumpkin products in preparation for the cooler months.

"@Starbucks can still save the year 2020 with an early release of PSL. Just saying," one user writes.

Another user shared that they're patiently awaiting the release of fall flavors. "2020 has been a terrible year. But pumpkin spice is coming," they wrote.

With Dunkin' already confirmed to be on the early PSL release docket, fans are eager to see if Starbucks follows suit.
