Carrying on with our coverage of the Academy of Country Music Awards we turn our attentions to the Randy Rogers Band.
Nominated in the category for Top Vocal Group Of The Year, Last.fm Trends looks at who is standing in their way of taking home the award.
The Nashville five-piece have been scrobbled a commendable 339,028 times from 26,636 listeners. Their latest studio album Burning The Day, which peaked in the US Country and US charts at number two and eight respectively, has been scrobbled 10,788 times – already just 59,250 scrobbles short of their their 2006 album Just A Matter Of Time.
The competition for the Top Vocal Group Of The Year award is particularly strong considering the Grammy award-winning Lady Antebellum, with 3,980,218 scrobbles, is nominated.
Winning five out of the six awards they were nominated for they were one of the surprise success stories at the Grammys and, with artists such as the Zac Brown Band (1,201,047 scrobbles) and Little Big Town (979,916 scrobbles) also nominated, the chances of the Randy Rogers Band taking the award could be quite slim.
